Seminole County Redevelopment Planning_ Agency Report <br />No report. <br />A. Ordinance 17-1453 — Amending City Code Chapter 82, Traffic and Vehicles <br />The City Clerk read Ordinance 17-1453 by title as follows: <br />"AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AMENDING CHAPTER 82, <br />TRAFFIC AND VEHICLES, BY AMENDING SECTION 82-2 TO UPDATE PARKING CITATION <br />FINES; AMENDING SECTION 82-55 TO REMOVE CONFLICTING LANGUAGE; AMENDING <br />SECTION 82-71 TO CLARIFY PARIONG CITATION PROCEDURES; AMENDING AND <br />RENAMING SECTION 82-72 TO UPDATE CITATION RESPONSE PROCEDURES; AND <br />AMENDING SECTIONS 82-127 AND 82-134 TO CLARIFY PROHIBITION ON CERTAIN TRUCKS <br />IN RESIDENTIAL AREAS; PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION, CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY <br />AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE." <br />Staff Presentation: Police Chief Larry Krantz gave a brief overview of Ordinance 17-1453, explaining that it <br />addressed concerns with Chapter 82 of the City Code relating to traffic and vehicles, which included <br />accountability; issuance of citations; need for clarification in some of the language; and consistency of fines in <br />comparison with surrounding jurisdictions. He stated that staff and the City Attorney had reviewed the chapter <br />and were recommending changes to some of the processes and language in order to provide better enforcement <br />and clarity of language. Ms. Reischmann also clarified that some of the changes were being made in order to <br />be consistent with language in the City's Unified Land Development Regulations which also dealt with <br />citations and enforcement. Chief Krantz summarized that basically the ordinance was for the purpose of <br />cleaning up some of the language, being consistent with other jurisdictions in Seminole County as far as fines, <br />providing sufficient time for the violators to pay and holding them accountable for non-payment. <br />Discussion: A brief discussion ensued regarding fine amounts, length of time allowed for payment, sanctions <br />available for non-payment, and notification to the violators. <br />Budget Impact: There is no impact to the City budget. <br />Recommendation: The City Manager and the Chief of Police recommended approval of Ordinance 17-1453 <br />on first reading. <br />Audience Participation: No one came forward to address Ordinance 17-1453. <br />MOTION: Commissioner Hufford moved to approve Ordinance 17-1453 on first reading, <br />as presented. Motion was seconded by Vice Mayor Aramendia. Motion carried <br />
