CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of January 23, 2017 — Regular Meeting <br />Page 12 of 14 <br />Budget Impact: There is no budget impact at this time. <br />Recommendation: The City Manager recommended consideration of the questions posed. <br />CONSENSUS: The City Commission agreed by consensus to direct the City Manager and staff <br />to explore development of the City -owned property at Wilshire Boulevard and <br />bring back a plan for Commission consideration on the feasibility of either <br />utilizing it for City -only public safety purposes or as facility to house two or <br />more public safety agencies, i.e. City of Casselberry, Seminole County Fire & <br />Rescue, and Seminole County Sheriffs Office; and to explore different <br />development options that would be the highest and best use for the property <br />located at 4195 S. US Highway 17-92 which is the current Police Station site, <br />including City use or private development options, detailing the pros and cons <br />of each of the development possibilities, and bring those options back to the <br />Commission for consideration, as well. <br />13. CITIZENS' COMMENTS <br />Mayor Glancy announced persons that wished to make comment or make inquiry on any matter not on the <br />agenda, may request to be recognized during Citizens' Comments. Mayor Glancy announced the rules of <br />decorum. The following individuals came forward: <br />1. Mr. Larry Littrell, 124 North Lost LakeLane, expressed a desire for the Parks Master Plan <br />process to proceed at a quicker pace and expressed concerns that the public was not getting <br />sufficient opportunity to provide input to be considered in the planning process. <br />2. Mr. Curt Schuster 825 Woodstream Lane, voiced concerns about instances of burglary and <br />vandalism in residential areas of Casselberry, and expressed his perception that the Police <br />Department was understaffed and was concentrating the resources it did have more in the <br />commercial sections than the residential sections of the City. <br />A. Procurement Information Report for the period 12/01/2016 through 12/31/2016 <br />Mr. Newlon advised that the Procurement Information Report for the period 12/01/2016 through 12/31/2016 <br />was included in the agenda packet for the Commissioners' review. <br />Shared that the Parks Master Plan survey had been developed and would be launched in the <br />upcoming week for public contribution of comments and suggestions. He stated that the <br />survey would be available for four weeks and the results would be compiled into a report to <br />be presented with a final recommendation to the City Commission. <br />Clarified that although there were some vacancies currently in the Police Department ranks <br />due to retirements and promotions, the City was working to get those filled as soon as <br />
