Lakes Management Advisory Board Appointment <br />MOTION: Vice Mayor Aramendia moved to appoint Mr. Allessandro Garabaghi as a <br />member of the Lakes Management Advisory Board for the remainder of the <br />unexpired term caused by the resignation of Mr. Alan Moore, term effective to <br />January 31, 2018. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Solomon. Motion <br />carried unanimously by voice vote 5-0. <br />13. CITIZENS' COMMENTS <br />Mayor Glancy announced persons that wished to make comment or make inquiry on any matter not on the <br />agenda, may request to be recognized during Citizens' Comments. Mayor Glancy announced the rules of <br />decorum. The following individual came forward: <br />Mr. Spencer Brown, 2702 Oak Lane, stated that his employer, Mr. David Vandestreek, who <br />resides at 2704 Oak Lane, had purchased a vacant lot located at 2818 Lakeview Drive and <br />utilized the property for overnight storage of vehicles used in his business Vandestreek <br />Cabinetry. Mr. Vandestreek presented a packet of information containing photographs and <br />maps to the City Clerk for distribution to the Commissioners and Mr. Brown explained that <br />they had made significant improvements to the property; however, the property was included <br />in the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) district and overnight parking was not <br />permitted. He stated that he and Mr. Vandestreek were requesting that the City consider <br />either amending the CRA requirements to permit overnight parking in that area, or delete that <br />location from the CRA district altogether. <br />14. CITY MANAGER'S REPORT <br />No report. <br />15. CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT <br />Reminded the Commissioners that there were a number of pending bills in the Legislature that <br />were detrimental to local governments and would preempt Home Rule, and urged everyone to <br />make contact with legislators about those issues. <br />16. CITY CLERK'S REPORT <br />No report. <br />
