CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of April 10, 2017 — Regular Meeting <br />Page 7 of 10 <br />A. Ordinance 17-1455 — Amending City Code Chapter 86, Utilities, Article III, Water, <br />Division 8, Reclaimed Water Use, Section 86-277 Routing and Consti action <br />The City Clerk read Ordinance 17-1455 by title as follows: <br />"AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AMENDING SECTION 86-277, <br />ROUTING AND CONSTRUCTION OF DIVISION 8, RECLAIMED WATER USE, ARTICLE III, <br />WATER, CHAPTER 86, UTILITIES, OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF <br />CASSELBERRY, TO PROVIDE FLEXIBILITY FOR RECLAIMED WATER HOOK-UPS; <br />PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION, CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE." <br />Staff Presentation: Interim Water Resources Manager Tara Lamoureaux gave a brief overview of Ordinance <br />17-1455, explaining that the purpose of the ordinance was to provide some flexibility to commercial users of <br />the City's reclaimed water resources for irrigation purposes. She added that that it did include a requirement <br />for the Public Works Director to approve a request for use of reclaimed water in addition to existing irrigation <br />well water for irrigation purposes if staff has deemed it acceptable and the proper backflow device is in place to <br />protect the City's system. <br />Budget Impact: There is no impact to the City Budget. <br />Recommendation: The City Manager and the Public Works Director recommended approval of Ordinance <br />17-1455 on first reading. <br />Audience Participation: No one came forward to address Ordinance 17-1455. <br />MOTION: Commissioner Solomon moved to approve Ordinance 17-1455 on first reading, <br />as presented. Motion was seconded by Vice Mayor Aramendia. <br />Discussion: A brief discussion ensued regarding the process for approval from the Public Works Director, and <br />assessment of risk to the City's potable water system prior to approval. <br />Motion carried unanimously by voice vote 5-0. <br />I L PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />No items were presented for consideration on this agenda. <br />
