everything was covered from the ladders all the way down to the bottom, not including the read because it faces
the garage. This went by for a few and there were no problems, then stared getting violation notices with the
vehicle covered. The ladders have been removed and magnets purchased. The vehicle was not in the driveway
)n June 8, 2016 because Mr. Ramirez was still at work and did not arrive home until after 6pm.
Nathan Johnson, Code Compliance Officer stated the City has a policy of checking three times in a row,
because it could be someone doing work at the property. The property is checked on numerous occasions. The
owner has spoken about covering the vehicle, that is not allowed and Mr. Johnson is strictly going by the Code
requirements are, which is to make the vehicle look as if it's not a commercial vehicle.
Mr. Johnson has seen the pictures the owner has taken and will go out to get his own. The City wanted to let the
owner know about any future violation that may result in a fine.
The Special Magistrate asked if there was any kind of permanent solution.
Nathan Johnson, Code Compliance Officer advised that to keep the vehicle on the property seeing that he does
not have access to a side yard, the ladder removal and magnetic covers are the only solution at this time.
Luis Ramirez, 1157 Galahad Dr stated he has no issues at all, even if he has to take the ladders on and off every
day, as long as he can keep the vehicle on property. He does not have the space or the money to build a
driveway on the side of the house. Because of his work being a commercial HVAC technician, he runs
emergency calls at any given time and is required to keep the vehicle in his possession. Calls would be taken
from him and he could end up losing his position.
Cynthia Raper, 224 Triplet Ct, stated she feels sorry for this man because apparently Code Enforcement in
Casselberry is very arbitrary and capricious. There is a man with an HVAC truck, ladder rack on the top, across
'rom the Mayor and he has not been cited and he had been there for a number of years, along with his boat
xhich is 3/4 the size of the house. Ms. Raper feels this committee goes after middle income people who are in the
trades and thinks that is horrible.
Mark Campbell, Lead Code Compliance Officer advised that Ms. Raper has no connection to this property.
The Special Magistrate asked if Mr. Ramirez had anything else.
Mr. Ramirez did not have anything else.
Finding of Fact -Based on the testimony and photographs entered into record for Case CE -16-00120, 1157
Galahad Dr had'been in violation of parking business related vehicle ULDR Section 3-10.9.
