CITY CLERK'S REPORT <br />Announced that the election qualifying period for Commission Seats 4 and 5 was held from <br />12:00 noon, Monday, May 16, 2016 through 12:00 noon, Friday, May20, 2016. She advised <br />that one candidate had qualified for each seat, noting that Mayor Glancy was unopposed in <br />her bid for a third term as Mayor and Mr. Bill Hufford had qualified for Seat No. 4. She <br />further advised that both would have the oath of office administered in September on a date <br />which would be determined after receipt of the certified election results for the six proposed <br />Charter amendments that would be appearing on the August 30, 2016 ballot. She then <br />congratulated Mayor Glancy and Mr. Hufford on their successful bids for their respective <br />Commission seats. <br />17. CITY COMMISSIONERS' REPORTS/COMMENTS <br />Commissioner Anthony Aramendia - Seat No. 1: <br />Reported he had attended the Seminole County Board of County Commissioners meeting on <br />Tuesday, May 10, 2016 relating to Oxford Place and he had heard great comments from the <br />County about working with City staff to make that road project possible. He added that the <br />City has a great friendship and partnership with Seminole County and he'd like to see the <br />momentum keep going on future projects. <br />Advised he had attended the Lakes District community meetings and was pleased at the great <br />turnout and the great comments he heard about the proposed Lakes District and the improved <br />condition of the golf course and facilities. <br />Added his congratulations to Mayor Glancy and Mr. Bill Hufford on having run unopposed <br />for their Commission seats. <br />Commissioner Andrew Meadows — Seat No. 2 <br />Congratulated Mayor Glancy and Commissioner -Elect Bill Hufford. He stated he felt the lack <br />of opposition actually spoke to how the City was doing and how staff was doing, and the fact <br />that the majority of the City's residents were pleased with what they were seeing happening in <br />the City. He added congratulations to staff and the Commission on how well the City was <br />doing. <br />Reported that he had attended both community meetings regarding the proposed Lakes <br />District and the room was full both times. He stated he had also heard a lot of positive <br />feedback on what the City's forward thinking and future plans. He commended Community <br />Development staff on the presentation and responses to residents' questions. <br />
