CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of April 11, 2016— Regular Meeting <br />Page 8 of 10 <br />Stated the City had hosted some tremendous events over the weekend and expressed <br />appreciation to Recreation staff for all they do to make the City's events successful. <br />15. CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT <br />No report. <br />16. CITY CLERK'S REPORT <br />Advised that she was developing the community outreach and education components for <br />proposed charter amendments that will be appearing on the August 301h City ballot as a result <br />of the adoption of Ordinance 16 -1441 as recommended in the Charter Review Committee's <br />final report. Noted she will be holding at least three town hall meetings to get the message <br />out to the voters that these questions would be included on the ballot along with the two City <br />Commission seats. She added that at least one town hall meeting would be held at the <br />Recreation Center during the daytime, with the others will be held at City Hall. She stated she <br />would bring additional information to the Commission when the meeting dates were set. <br />17. CITY COMMISSIONERS' REPORTS /COMMENTS <br />Commissioner Anthony Aramendia - Seat No. 1: <br />• Reported he, Commissioner Hufford and Mayor Glancy had participated in the Farmshare <br />Partners food distribution event on Saturday, April 2, 2016, and although the weather did not <br />cooperate, it had been a very successful event for a good cause. <br />• Thanked everyone who participated in the Corporate 5K on Thursday, April 7, 2016. <br />• Advised that the Spring Jazz Concert held at Secret Lake Park on Saturday, April 9, 2016 had <br />been a great success. <br />• Reported that he had attended Habitat for Humanity's breakfast and tour of a project at <br />Magnolia Place in Longwood on Tuesday, April 5, 2016. He stated that this was a project <br />similar to the one Habitat for Humanity had completed in Antigua Bay where they had taken <br />over and completed a townhouse project when the developers walked away from it. <br />• Reported he had spoken with Congressman John Mica regarding the City's concerns about <br />the Lynx transfer station in Fern Park. He stated that Congressman Mica had advised that the <br />City should put those concerns in writing and get them to him, and he could then possibly <br />look at alternative locations for the station. Mr. Newlon added that he had been invited to <br />meet with Seminole County Manager Nicole Guillet about also relocating the SunRail super <br />stop and he should have some information to share about that in the near future. <br />Discussion: Discussion ensued regarding some of the concerns and issues with the current location of the <br />Lynx transfer station in Fern Park. It was agreed that the best course of action in order to get started would be <br />to proceed cautiously, with City Manager Newlon meeting with County Manager Guillet and expressing some <br />of those concerns before suggesting any alternate locations to Congressman Mica. <br />
