CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of April 11, 2016 — Regular Meeting <br />Page 9 of 10 <br />Commissioner Andrew Meadows — Seat No. 2 <br />Congratulated Emily Hanna on her promotion to Planner II. <br />Gave an update on the City's emergency notification response system, noting that it had been <br />implemented and progress was good with approximately 10,000 names in the system which <br />would get a reverse call in the event of an emergency. Mr. Newlon clarified that in addition to <br />the reverse 9 -1 -1 system mentioned by Commissioner Meadows, the City's emergency <br />outreach also included public media, website and press releases, and the City would continue <br />to reach out to try and add numbers to the system. <br />Commissioner Sandra Solomon - Seat No. 3: <br />Advised she had been out of town and was unable to attend the events over the past weekend; <br />however, she had heard all good comments and wished to compliment staff for their good <br />work. <br />Stated she had recently attended an event at a very nice event center which had been <br />converted from an old house and was now being used for weddings and various other special <br />events. She added she would like to see something similar in the City of Casselberry. <br />Thanked all city staff for their hard work. <br />Vice Mayor Colleen Hufford - Seat No. 4: <br />• Reported she had been unable to attend the Art & Music in the Park and Food Truck Bazaar <br />on Friday, April 8, 2016; however, she had attended the Jazz Concert on Saturday, April 9, <br />2016 which was a great success and very well attended. She commended staff on their ability <br />to successfully manage major events on both Friday and Saturday of the same weekend. <br />• Congratulated Emily Hanna on her promotion to Planner II. <br />• Advised she had also attended the Farmshare food distribution event on Saturday, April 2, <br />2016, and it was a successful event even with the wind and rain. <br />• Reported she had also attended the Habitat for Humanity event on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 and <br />was pleased to see a project which had been abandoned due to the recession get completed by <br />the volunteers and sweat equity from the new homeowners. <br />• Introduced her brother Craig Strain who was visiting from Virginia. <br />• Announced that her husband Bill Hufford planned to run for Commission Seat 4 in the <br />upcoming election. <br />• Thanked Commissioner Aramendia and City Manager Newlon for continuing to follow up on <br />the Lynx bus issues. <br />Mayor Glancy — Seat No. 5: <br />Congratulated Emily Hanna on her recent promotion. <br />Reported she had attended the Spring Jazz Concert on Saturday, April 9, 2016 and had really <br />enjoyed having the opportunity to meet the artists. She stated that the concert was fabulous <br />
