CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION
Minutes of February 9, 2015 — Regular Meeting
Page 11 of 14
• Commended Commissioner Hufford and City Planner Marie Regan for representing the City so well at
the CALNO meeting on February 4, 2015. He stated it was his first time attending a CALNO meeting
and he could found it interesting and could see the value of the meetings.
Commissioner Hufford — Seat No. 4:
• Advised she would be attending the Art & Music in the Park and Food Truck Bazaar event on Friday,
February 13, 2015.
• Stated she was glad to hear that the City Manager had started a conversation regarding a JPA (Joint
Planning Agreement) with Seminole County, and she felt the Commissioners should work together to
make the City's desire for such an agreement known to the County. Ms. Reischmann stated that she
believed the reason a previous attempt to establish a JPA had failed was related to some litigation that
had occurred determining that the County could not enforce a promise that the City makes not to
annex.
• Stated she had noted that "Mom's Kitchen" had gone out of business and there were now no tenants in
the shopping center where they had been.
• Reported that Dairy Queen had considered a location in the area along State Road 436 between Boca
Bargoon's and Wendy's; however a corporate decision had been made not to locate there due to some
issues they had with the location.
• Gave a brief update on pending legislation, including water company issues and the springs, and stated
she would give a more detailed report at a future meeting.
Vice Mayor Solomon - Seat No. 3:
Commended Commissioner Hufford and City Clerk Donna Gardner on their efforts for the CALNO
meeting which was hosted by the City. She noted she had an opportunity to speak with one of the
County Commissioners about linking all the bike trails throughout Seminole County.
Advised she would be attending the Art & Music in the Park and Food Truck Bazaar on Friday,
February 13, 2015 and a meeting with Florida Department of Transportation regarding businesses at
the Red Bug Lake Road and State Road 436 which would be at Metro Life Church on Wednesday,
February 18, 2015.
Ms. Gardner confirmed she had received e -mail notice of the FDOT meeting and again requested that the
Commissioners send her an e -mail reminder of events they will be attending so she could note the date, time
and location properly for notice should there be more than one Commissioner attending an event or meeting.
Mayor Glancy — Seat No. 5:
• Thanked Commissioner Hufford for providing the information about Dairy Queen.
• Advised she would be attending the Art & Music in the Park and Food Truck Bazaar on Friday,
February 13, 2015.
