CITY CLERK'S REPORT <br />• Reminded the Commission there would only be one regular meeting held in Mayon Monday, May 11, <br />2015 due to the Memorial Day holiday falling on the fourth Monday (May 25, 2015). <br />Commissioner Anthony Aramendia - Seat No. 1: <br />Reminded the Commissioners that the EarthFest event would be held on Saturday, May 2, 2015. <br />Expressed appreciation to all the employees who were in attendance at the meeting in support of the <br />three gentlemen who were retiring and were being recognized for their long -time service. <br />Reported he had attended the Congressional Art Contest exhibit sponsored by Congressman John <br />Mica on Sunday, April 26, 2015 and it was very well attended. <br />Commissioner Andrew Meadows — Seat No. 2 <br />• Expressed appreciation to the three retiring Public Works employees, noting that they would be <br />missed. <br />• Requested that an update be given at an upcoming meeting regarding progress on the emergency <br />notification situation. <br />Commissioner Hufford — Seat No. 4: <br />• Thanked Collin Martin, Danny Carson and Ron Wight for their service and extended best wishes on <br />their retirement. <br />• Commended the Finance Department on their work on preparation of the Comprehensive Annual <br />Financial Report. <br />• Commented that she was pleased that she and her fellow Commissioners were now serving as the <br />Community Redevelopment Agency for the City. <br />• Expressed some concerns about the lack of amenities and commercial uses in the Legacy Park area. <br />• Advised that she was continuing to work on the issue of digital billboards and asked for continued <br />support from the Commission in her efforts to prohibit them on the U.S. Highway 17 -92 corridor. She <br />added that she was also hoping to speak with the County Commissioners about limiting advertising at <br />the SunRail stations and along its routes in order to make for more enjoyable rides for the passengers <br />utilizing the system. <br />
