OTHER ITEMS
A. North Winter Park Drive Industrial Park Marketing Plan
Staff Presentation: City Manager Randy Newlon gave a brief history relating to the acquisition along Winter
Park Drive for the purposes of extending the road north to connect to State Road 436 and the designation ofthe
unused parcels as surplus. He explained that the property was zoned industrial and industrial- medium and at
the recent Commission workshop it had been agreed to continue to market the surplus property for sale and the
Commission had requested that he bring a marketing plan for the property back to them for consideration.
Mr. Newlon advised that previously the property had been marketed in -house as individual lots under the "Idea
Park" concept. He stated that he would now like to engage the services of The Triece Company, which was
already engaged by the City under a piggyback contract with Osceola County for various consulting and
property sales purposes, to professionally market the property. He further stated he had received a proposal
from the Triece Company to market the property which included up to 56 hours of consulting services at a rate
of $125 per hour for a total out of pocket to the City of $7,000, and should the property be sold a 2%
commission would be paid at closing. He then gave an overview of the suggested new marketing plan
consisting of the following:
Market 8 of the 9 parcels, holding the other which is wetland property and falls within the
flood plain, for other public purposes.
