CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of May 11, 2015 — Regular Meeting <br />Page 9 of 14 <br />Audience Participation: The following individuals came forward to address Resolution 15-2733: <br />1. Mr. Ted Weeks, 30 Surrey Knoll, stated that he liked the idea of the trails connecting, but <br />expressed some concerns about the possibility of the buildings housing Bank ofAmerica and <br />the Planet Fitness gym being torn down. <br />Mayor Glancy cautioned Mr. James Fraleigh to watch his tone during his comments, to which Mr. Fraleigh <br />responded that he felt she was violating his constitutional rights by addressing her comrnents to him and no one <br />else. <br />2. Mr. James Fraleigh, 23 Teresa Court, expressed concerns about the money he felt had been <br />wasted on construction of the two flyovers on State Road 436, and the detrimental effect the <br />construction had on surrounding homes and businesses. <br />3. Ms. Shannon Campbell, 586 Queens Mirror Circle, commended the Cormnission on utilizing <br />the Department of Economic Opportunity to fund the study and for making decisions that had <br />promoted new businesses relocating to area such as Baer Furniture. <br />4. Mr. John Casselberry, 700 South Lost Lake Lane, voiced some concerns about the possibility <br />of more intense development in the area surrounding the Red Bug Lake Road/State Road 436 <br />intersection. <br />MOTION: Vice Mayor Solomon moved to approve Resolution 15-2733, as presented. <br />Motion was seconded by Commissioner Aramendia. <br />Discussion: A brief discussion ensued regarding possible businesses which might be considered for the area. <br />Motion carried unanimously by voice vote 5-0. <br />No items were presented for consideration on this agenda. <br />11. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />A. Resolution 15-2730— Petition to Close, Vacate and Abandon a Portion of North Lake <br />Griffin Drive Right of Way <br />The City Clerk read Resolution 15-2730 by title as follows: <br />"A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE <br />CLOSING, VACATION AND ABANDONMENT OF A PORTION OF THE NORTH LAKE GRIFFIN <br />DRIVE RIGHT-OF-WAY AS PLATTED IN KATHRYN PARK AND AS RECORDED IN PLAT <br />BOOK 5, PAGE 67 OF THE PUBLIC RECORDS OF SEMINOLE COUNTY, FLORIDA; <br />PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, AND EFFECTIVE DATE." <br />
