Ordinance 15 -1431 — Amending and Restating the City of Casselberry Police Officers' and Firefighters' Pension Plan The City Clerk read Ordinance 15 -1431 by title as follows: "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AMENDING AND RESTATING CHAPTER 62, PENSIONS AND RETIREMENT, ARTICLE 1, POLICE OFFICERS' AND FIREFIGHTERS' PENSION PLAN, SECTIONS 62 -2001 THROUGH 62 -2030, OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY; PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY OF PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE." Staff Presentation: Finance Director Rebecca Bowman gave an overview of Ordinance 15 -1431, explaining that it provided for a comprehensive pension plan update to the section in the Code pertaining to the pension plan. She advised that there were several reasons for the plan update, including: changes mandated by the Division of Retirement Services (DRS) during the last legislative session through Senate Bill 172; the Interlocal Agreement for Fire Consolidation with Seminole County to change some wording and include some of the stipulations contained in the contract; and Internal Revenue Service (IRS) administrative changes. Budget Impact: There is no impact to the City budget. Recommendation: The City Manager and the Finance Director recommended approval of Ordinance 15- 143 1 on first reading. Audience Participation: No one came forward to address Ordinance 15 -1431.
