CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of November 9, 2015 — Regular Meeting <br />Page 10 of 19 <br />Congressman John Mica's office to start a conversation about a possible <br />partnership for the purpose of locating a future operations center for the ITS <br />at the City's Wilshire Boulevard location should that option appeal to the <br />Congressman. <br />C. Leadership Seminole Board Report <br />No report. <br />D. Mayors/Managers Group Report <br />No report. <br />E. Council of Local Governments in Seminole COunty(CALNO ) Report <br />Vice Mayor Solomon and Commissioner Aramendia advised they had attended the meeting held on <br />Wednesday, November 4, 2015. Vice Mayor Solomon reported that the meeting was held at the Seminole <br />County School Board offices in Lake Mary, and Superintendent Walt Griffin had given an update on plans for <br />Seminole County schools, and advised he had gone to Washington, D.C. to report on all the good things going <br />on with Seminole County schools. Commissioner Aramendia added that there had also been a presentation <br />about the ePathways program which offers students the opportunity to find, explore and experience career <br />options through specific programs at the elementary, middle and high school levels. <br />F. Seminole County Redevelopment Planning gency Report <br />Vice Mayor Solomon advised she had attended the meeting on Thursday, November 5, 2015 and the agenda <br />had focused mainly on the improvements to Oxford Road and Fern Park Boulevard. She was pleased to report <br />that things were moving forward in both areas. <br />G. Discussion Relating � o City Commission Meeting & Agenda Policies <br />City Manager Randy Newlon explained that this discussion would be an opportunity to review what was <br />currently in the agenda and meeting policies that the Commission had approved by resolution, and to modify or <br />add to the policies if that is what the Commission desired. He added that topics of concern which had been <br />brought up in previous meetings included Commission meeting tirnes and the inclusion of an invocation in the <br />normal meeting agenda. He then asked City Attorney Katie Reischmann to give more information relating to <br />the issue of an invocation. <br />Ms. Reischmann advised that this was a very complicated topic, but that materials had been distributed to the <br />Commissioners which provided them with information that would assist them in making a decision.
