Budget Impact: Total costs for the South Water Treatment Plant granular activated carbon treatment addition amount to $3,184,679 and exceed the original $2,600,000 budgeted amount for the project by $584,679. Budget Amendment #14 -012 is necessary to provide adequate funding for all three components ofthe project and will result in an increase in the Water and Sewer utility Fund Other Non - operating Sources account #401- 0000 389.90 -00 and to the Improvements Other Than Building Account #401- 0754 - 533.63 -24 for $584,679. BA #14 -012 Explanation of Request: This budget amendment seeks City Commission approval to allocate additional funding necessary to purchase and construct the Granular Activated Carbon Filtration (GAC) addition at the South Water Treatment Plant. Initially, $2,600,000 was budgeted in FY 2014 for this project. The project balance will be reduced $817,210 with Commission approval of Resolution #14-2562 for the purchase of the GAC vessel and media. Upon Commission approval on Resolution #14 -2561 Supplemental Agreement #4 with Wharton Smith, Inc. will allocate an amount not to exceed $1,799,030 for GAC construction. Supporting infrastructure will also need to be purchased directly by the City at an estimated cost of $568,439. Asa result additional funding of $584,679 is necessary to fully support this project. MOTION: Commissioner Solomon moved to approve Resolution 14 -2561 and related Budget Amendment 14 -012, as presented. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Aramendia. Motion carried unanimously by voice vote 5 -0. B. Resolution 14 -2562 — Award of Bid #Y- 140001 to Calgon Carbon Corporation for Granular Activated Carbon Filter Vessels and Media for the Treatment Addition at the South Water Treatment Plant The City Clerk read Resolution 14 -2562 by title as follows: "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA APPROVING THE AWARD OF INVITATION FOR BID #Y14 -0001 TO CALGON CARBON CORPORATION FOR THE GRANULAR ACTIVATED CARBON FILTER VESSELS AND MEDIA FOR THE SOUTH WATER TREATMENT PLANT PROJECT; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY AND EFFECTIVE DATE."
