Budget Amendment #14 -007 — Recognition. of FY 13/14 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Funds for Purchase of Community Enhancement Initiative Operating Supplies Introduction: Budget Amendment #14 -007 provides for consideration to recognize grant proceeds in the amount of $12,074 for operating expenditures necessary to support the Police Department's Community Enhancement Initiative. Budget Impact: Budget Amendment #14 -007 increases account #001- 0000 - 331.22 -05 (Federal Grants) by $12,074 and account #001- 0610 - 521.52 -00 (Operating Supplies). BA #14 -007 Explanation of Request: This item seeks City Commission approval to allocate funding for grant proceeds awarded by the Office of Criminal Justice for the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (2013 -DJ- BX- 0973). On June 24, 2013, the Commission approved application for this grant, and this budget amendment seeks approval to appropriate funding to be used for the Community Enhancement Initiative, which includes elderly services, youth safety, and a stolen property identification program.
