CASSELBGRRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of December 9, 2013 — Regular Meeting <br />Page 10 of 24 <br />Recommendation: The City Manager and the Police Chief recommended approval for purchasing firearms <br />ammunition from Lawmen's and Shooters in the amount of $23,990.89. <br />K. Purchase of a Step Mill Fitness Machine <br />Introduction: This item provides for consideration to purchase a step mill fitness machine from Fitness <br />Showcase at the cost of $5,328 for use by Fire Department personnel. <br />Budget Impact: the impact to the budget will be realized as an expense to the Fire Department's capital <br />Machinery & Equipment/Equipment Other account #001- 0310 - 522.67 -35 in the amount of $5,328. <br />Recommendation: The City Manager and the Fire Chief recommended approval to purchase the Step Mill <br />Fitness Machine from Fitness Showcase in the amount of $5,328. <br />Audience Participation: The following individuals came forward to address the Consent Agenda: <br />1. Mr. John Casselberry, 700 South Lost Lake Lane, expressed some concerns about the planned <br />Habitat for Humanity homes related to Consent Agenda items C. Resolution 13 -2552 and D. <br />Resolution 13 -2553, including his belief that the City should not give away property, and that <br />construction types should not be mixed. <br />2. Mr. James Fraleigh, 23 Teresa Court, voiced opposition to Consent Agenda Items G. <br />Resolution 13 -2556 and K. Purchase of a Step Mill Fitness Machine, stating he felt the <br />citizens of Casselberry should not have to pay for poor work done by contractors which <br />resulted in cost overruns, nor for new exercise equipment for the Fire Department. <br />MOTION: Commissioner Aramendia moved to approve the Consent Agenda, as presented. <br />Motion was seconded by Vice Mayor Hufford. Motion carried unanimously <br />by voice vote 5 -0. <br />8. DISCUSSION ITEMS <br />A. Future Aizenda Items <br />City Manager Randy Newlon inquired whether the Commission would be willing to reconsider an ordinance <br />revising the City's Code relating to utilities to allow for a deferral of the collection of water and sewer benefit <br />fees until the issuance of a certificate of occupancy. <br />CONSENSUS: After a brief discussion, the City Commission agreed by consensus to <br />reconsider at a future meeting an ordinance revising the City Code <br />relating to utilities to allow for a deferral of the collection of water and <br />sewer benefit fees until the issuance of a certificate of occupancy. <br />
