CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION
Minutes of December 9, 2013 — Regular Meeting
Page 22 of 24
electronically, such as the governor, state representatives and senators. She explained that it is
anticipated that the Legislature will move forward either in the upcoming session or the next year's
session with extending that mandate to the local level, so with passage of the ordinance the City is
trying to stay ahead of the curve. She noted that the City had had at least one instance since
implementation of the requirement for electronic filing where a candidate failed to turn in the paper
report by the deadline which resulted in them being deemed as filing late. She added that elimination
of the paper report, which is due by 5:00 p.m. by state statute, would give candidates more time to file
since electronic filing gives them until midnight on the due date of the report. She advised that, as
always, she was available for any questions the Commission inay have.
17.
