Municipal Advisory Committee (Metroplan, ) Report — Mayor Glancy <br />Reported that FlexBus was still on the project priority list and there was some discussion about it at the <br />meeting. She stated that there was also a presentation regarding a push for stepping up of pedestrian safety in <br />crosswalks, and that the City of Orlando was now enforcing this with a $164 fine for drivers going through a <br />crosswalk while pedestrians are present. She added that since pedestrian mobility is being promoted in the <br />area, safety is a main focus and hopefully similar measures will be adopted in all counties and municipalities. <br />C. Leadership Seminole Board Report — Mayor Glancy <br />Mayor Glancy reported that she had served on a Mayors' panel for the Leadership class last Friday and had <br />spoken on the City's receipt of the Clean Air Award and the City's efforts to assist businesses in the area ofthe <br />U.S. Highway 17 -92 /State Road 436 flyover project. <br />D. Mayors /Managers Group Report — Mayor Glancy <br />No report. <br />G. Council of Local Governments in Seminole County (CALNO) Report — <br />Commissioner Hufford <br />Commissioner Hufford reported that Seminole County had hosted the meeting at the airport in the new <br />Vigilante Room, which is dedicated to veterans of the Viet Nam War. She added that the County Manager <br />gave a presentation on the County's budget, focusing primarily on public safety. <br />F. Seminole County Redevelopment Planning Agency Report — Vice Mayor Solomon <br />Vice Mayor Solomon reported that the RPA was working on a plan to assist small businesses along U.S. <br />Highway 17 -92 with rent for up to a year, and she would give a more detailed report when the program was <br />completely set up. <br />
