Sole Source Purchase of a Submersible Pump from Xylem, Inc. and Related Budget Amendment #13 -070 Introduction: This item provides for consideration of the sole source purchase of a spare submersible pump from Xylem, Inc. in the amount of $14,898 for the Frangipani Pump Station and related Budget Amendment 13 -070. Budget Impact: Budget Amendment #13 -070 is necessary to allocate appropriate funding to cover the costs associated with the purchase of the spare pump. Upon approval, funding will be transferred from the Lift Station Repair and Maintenance account in the amount of $14,898 to the Public Works Distribution and Collection Equipment Other account #401 - 0751 - 536.677 -35. BA #13 -070 Explanation of Request: This item seeks City Commission approval to provide funding for costs associated with the purchase of a spare pump to be used in the case of an emergency for Casselberry pump Station No. 48 (Frangipani Pump Station). Xylem, Inc. is the sole source manufacturer for said pump and has submitted a price quotation in the amount of $14,897.45. This budget amendment will provide sufficient funding for the City to purchase this capital item. Other $14,898 Decrease: 401- 0751 - 536.46 -13 Repair & Maintenance/Lift Stations $14,898 Recommendation: The City Manager and the Public Works Director recommended approval for the sole source purchase of a submersible pump from Xylem in the amount of $14,898 and budget Amendment #13- 070. F. Excuse of Absence of Commissioner Anthony Aramendia (ADDED) Commissioner Anthony Aramendia has advised that he has not been released yet from jury duty and will be unable to attend the City Commission meeting this afternoon. He respectfully requested that his Excuse of Absence be placed on the Consent Agenda for consideration. Audience Participation: No one came forward to address any item on the Consent Agenda. Mayor Glancy reminded the Commissioners that the Consent Agenda had been amended earlier to include the Excuse of Absence for Commissioner Aramendia.
