CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of June 24, 2013 — Regular Meeting <br />Page 11 of 13 <br />Advised he was still working with the attorneys on finalizing the acquisition agreement and option to <br />purchase for the City Center properties and hoped to bring it to the Commission for consideration at <br />the July 8, 2013 meeting. <br />Reminded the Commission a Budget Workshop was scheduled for Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. <br />He added that Wednesday, July 10t1' and Thursday, July l lti, had also been scheduled in the event <br />additional time was needed to discuss the proposed budget. <br />Reported that there had been an emergency repair to a transfer pump at the South Water Treatment <br />Plant, resulting in approximately $12,000 in costs. He added that a piggyback contract with the <br />vendor, Stewart's Electric, bad been approved under the Consent Agenda, which would allow future <br />repairs to be done by them without the need to declare it as an emergency. <br />1 , <br />• Reported on a recent Florida Supreme Court case in which the Court had ruled that cities could no <br />longer establish municipal code enforcement liens with super priority. She stated that the Court found <br />that codes which tried to establish super priority for code enforcement liens were preempted by state <br />law due to other statutes relevant to "first in time, first in right" and contractual issues with mortgage <br />foreclosures. <br />• No report. <br />Commissioner Anthony Aramendia — Seat No. 1: <br />• No report. <br />Commissioner Gene Fry — Seat No. 2: <br />a No report. <br />Commissioner Colleen Hufford — Seat No. 4: <br />® Shared some concerns she had received from a resident regarding nighttime activity witnessed at the <br />former boat ramp on Middle Lake Triplet at the end Triplet Lake Drive. <br />
