CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of June 24, 2013 — Regular Meeting <br />Page 12 of 13 <br />Discussion: A lengthy discussion ensued about public access to the lake at Triplet Lake Drive location as <br />well as on the north side near the Recreation Center and whether additional regulations needed to be <br />imposed, including the possibility of additional fencing and signage. <br />CONSENSUS: The Commission agreed by consensus that the City Manager would direct <br />the Police Department to perform a community patrol ofthe areas of concern <br />to observe what was taking place, and also to direct staff to perform research <br />and bring back proposed wording for signs restricting access to the former <br />boat ramp area between dusk to dawn and possibly directing citizens to other <br />parks for pedestrian and non - motorized vessel lake access. <br />Vice Mayor Sandra Solomon — Seat No. 3: <br />• Reported she had attended the ribbon cutting ceremony at the new Paradise Ice Shop. <br />• Advised she had recently been in New York City for a family reunion and had visited a new linear <br />park which had been created on a former elevated train line near l Oth Avenue. She stated it was a very <br />good use of the space, and she hoped to see similar linear parks created in Casselbeny in the future. <br />Mayor Charlene Glancy — Seat No. 5: <br />Reported she had attended a PSFPC (Public Schools Facilities Planning Committee) meeting and <br />advised they were still working on the interlocal agreement. She stated there was also a discussion <br />regarding the School Board's proposed capital budget and she was happy to report that Casselbeny <br />Elementary has been slated for a roof replacement in the 2013 -14 budget at a cost of $830,000. <br />Attended the annual Installation of Officers event for Casselbeny Veteran's Auxiliary on June 22 °d <br />Advised that Diane Meadows was recognized as Firefighter /EMT of the Year and Corporal Jennifer <br />Chapman was recognized as Police Officer of the Year. Added that the Casselbeny Veteran's <br />Auxiliary had provided $57,000 in charitable contributions to the Seminole County community over <br />the past year. <br />Shared some concerns that had been relayed to her by some of the participants in the Farmers' Market <br />relating to the re- location of the market from the front parking lot of City Hall to Lake Concord Park. <br />Discussion: A brief discussion ensued regarding the Farmers' Market, including attendance, signage and <br />location. Mr. Gisclar advised he would speak with Recreation Manager Linda Moore regarding the concerns <br />brought up and what accommodations could possibly be made to assist with the continued success of the <br />market. <br />There being no further business, Mayor Glancy adjourned the meeting at 4:56 p.m. <br />
