Designation of Voting Delegate to the Florida League of Cities 87th Annual <br />Conference <br />MOTION: Commissioner Fry moved to appoint Commissioner Hufford as the City's <br />voting delegate to the Florida League of Cities 87t11 Annual Conference. <br />Motion was seconded by Commissioner Aramendia. <br />Discussion: Vice Mayor Solomon announced that Commissioner Hufford would be receiving an award from <br />the Florida League of Cities. Mayor Glancy added that the League Legislative Advocacy Team's Home Rule <br />Hero Award was being presented to Commissioner Hufford for being an outstanding advocate for protecting <br />the Home Rule rights of her City's constituents, as well as municipal citizens throughout the state during the <br />2013 legislative session and the entire year. Mayor Glancy and all the Commissioners congratulated her on <br />being selected for the award. <br />Motion carried unanimously by voice vote 5 -0. <br />13. CITIZENS' COMMENTS <br />Mayor Glancy announced persons that wished to make comment or make inquiry on any matter not on the <br />agenda, may request to be recognized during Citizens' Comments. Mayor Glancy announced the rules of <br />decorum. <br />1. Mr. James Fraleigh, 23 Teresa Court, voiced concerns about the proposed selling price for the <br />City Center property, stating that the City would be taking a loss. He also expressed concern <br />about the City's plan to reinvest the money from the sale of the property back into the <br />development and felt it was a waste of taxpayers' money and a bad business decision. <br />2. Mr. John Casselberiy, 700 South Lost Lake Lane, also expressed concerns about the proposed <br />selling price, stating he had thought the City would make a profit on the sale. He also <br />reiterated his earlier concerns about the contract and stated he felt that, if possible, the City <br />should revoke the contract approved earlier in the meeting before it was finalized. <br />No one else came forward. <br />• Congratulated Commissioner Hufford on her recognition by the Florida League of Cities. He added <br />that she had done a tremendous j ob over the past year representing the City of Casselberry and all the <br />cities and the recognition was well deserved. <br />• Extended kudos to City Attorney Katie Reischmann for being recognized by Florida Trend Magazine <br />as one of 2013's Legal Elite Honorees in the area of government and administrative law. <br />
