CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of April R, 2013 — Regular Meeting <br />Page 15 of 17 <br />• Commended Recreation staff on the Florida Four aft showing last week, stating it was a very nice <br />event. <br />• Extended congratulations to Public Words for being awarded the TD Bank Green Streets Grant. <br />• Congratulated the Finance Department for successfully completing the latest audit season. <br />• Advised that the Mayor would be attending a meeting tomorrow morning with representatives from <br />Lynx and the cities of Maitland, Longwood and Altamonte Springs, who had partnered together in <br />plans to implement a FlexBus system. He stated the meeting was for the purpose oftlyingto work out <br />some differences which had occurred and asked if the Commission would be willing to authorize the <br />Mayor to execute a joint letter between the cities stating their positions to Lynx, if requested. <br />Discussion: Discussion ensued regarding the proposed F1exBus system and the proposed 3 -year test period. <br />CONSENSUS: Commission agreed by consensus to authorize Mayor Glancy to <br />execute a joint letter with the partner cities in the FlexBus program, if <br />requested, setting forth the City's desire to move forward with the <br />project as agreed to in the Memorandum of Agreement previously <br />approved by the Commission. <br />15. CITY ATTORNEY'S R <br />• Distributed a litigation update to the Commission. <br />• Reminded the Commission of the Annual Board Appreciation event on Thursday, April 25, 2013 at <br />7:00 p.m. at Deer Run Country Club. She advised that invitations would be mailed out this week. <br />Commissioner Anthony Aramendia — Seat No. 1: <br />• Echoed Mr. Newlon's comments commending the Finance Department on preparation ofthe CAFRA. <br />• Congratulated Public Works on being awarded the TD Green Streets Grant <br />• Advised that Earth Fest will be on April 27, 2013 from Noon till 6:00 p.m. and he is anticipating the <br />event will be larger than last year. <br />• Reported that last weekend he had worked with a group of employees from Whole Foods to do some <br />lakeshore cleanup on North Triplet. He stated they had gathered about 50 -60 pounds of lakeshore <br />debris. <br />
