CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION Minutes of April R, 2013 — Regular Meeting Page 15 of 17 • Commended Recreation staff on the Florida Four aft showing last week, stating it was a very nice event. • Extended congratulations to Public Words for being awarded the TD Bank Green Streets Grant. • Congratulated the Finance Department for successfully completing the latest audit season. • Advised that the Mayor would be attending a meeting tomorrow morning with representatives from Lynx and the cities of Maitland, Longwood and Altamonte Springs, who had partnered together in plans to implement a FlexBus system. He stated the meeting was for the purpose oftlyingto work out some differences which had occurred and asked if the Commission would be willing to authorize the Mayor to execute a joint letter between the cities stating their positions to Lynx, if requested. Discussion: Discussion ensued regarding the proposed F1exBus system and the proposed 3 -year test period. CONSENSUS: Commission agreed by consensus to authorize Mayor Glancy to execute a joint letter with the partner cities in the FlexBus program, if requested, setting forth the City's desire to move forward with the project as agreed to in the Memorandum of Agreement previously approved by the Commission. 15. CITY ATTORNEY'S R • Distributed a litigation update to the Commission. • Reminded the Commission of the Annual Board Appreciation event on Thursday, April 25, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at Deer Run Country Club. She advised that invitations would be mailed out this week. Commissioner Anthony Aramendia — Seat No. 1: • Echoed Mr. Newlon's comments commending the Finance Department on preparation ofthe CAFRA. • Congratulated Public Works on being awarded the TD Green Streets Grant • Advised that Earth Fest will be on April 27, 2013 from Noon till 6:00 p.m. and he is anticipating the event will be larger than last year. • Reported that last weekend he had worked with a group of employees from Whole Foods to do some lakeshore cleanup on North Triplet. He stated they had gathered about 50 -60 pounds of lakeshore debris.
