CASSELBERRY CTI'Y COMMISSION
Minutes of June 10, 2013 — Regular Meeting
Page 13 of 16
Discussion: Commissioner Hufford requested clarification for the public as to whether high rise buildings
were being proposed along Lake Concord. Ms. Smith advised that plans were being proposed for development
around City Hall which did not include development directly on Lake Concord. She added that the anticipated
development was not projected to be greater than four stories. She confirmed that the park would still be
utilized as a park and that even with a zoning change, as long as the park remained in use as a park, it would
essentially be a legally existing non conformity. Mr. Newlon reminded the Commission and public that a
workshop was scheduled for tomorrow, June 11, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at which the City's developers would be
presenting their proposed vision for the development along Lake Concord and on the City's 15 -acre site. He
stated that at that time it would be made clear to the public what the developers had in mind. He also
confirmed that no towers, no hotels and no changes to the park boundaries were being proposed.
Motion carried unanimously by voice vote 5 -0.
No items were scheduled for consideration on this agenda.
1.
