CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION Minutes of May 13, 2013 — Regular Meeting Page 8 of 18 Recommendation: The City Manager and the Police Chief recommended approval of the Retirement Agreement between the City of Casselberry and Officer Ali Shurdom for the purchase of K -9 "Tuk" for the amount of $1.00. M. Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission Invasive Plant Management Grant Application Introduction: This item provides for consideration to submit a Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) Invasive Plant Management Grant Proposal to provide invasive plant treatments for City - owned conservation areas. Budget Impact: There is no immediate impact to the City Budget. Because the proposed match will be from "in -kind" staff time contributions from existing staff, award of this grant will not add any additional financial burden to the City. Recommendation: The City Manager and the Public Works Director recommended approval to submit the FWC Invasive Plant Management Grant Proposal to the East Central Invasive Upland Plant Working Group for consideration to prioritize and forward on to FWC. MOTION: Commissioner Hufford moved to approve the Consent Agenda, as amended. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Aramendia. Motion carried unanimously by voice vote 5 -0. Mayor Glancy recognized the students in the audience who had made a presentation at the last Commission meeting relating to candy - flavored tobacco products, and she advised that the resolution supporting their initiatives against these products in local stores had been approved under the Consent Agenda. She and the Commission thanked them for their good work. A. Second Reading of Ordinance 13-1388— Amending the Definition of "Salqu" for the City of CasselbelTy's Police Officers' and Firefighters' Pension Plan The City Clerk read Ordinance 13 -1388 by title as follows: "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AMENDING CHAPTER 62, PENSIONS AND RETIREMENT, ARTICLE 1, POLICE OFFICERS' AND FIREFIGHTERS' PENSION PLAN, OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY; AMENDING SECTION 62 -2001, DEFINITIONS; PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY OF PROVISIONS; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE."
