CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of March 12, 2012 — Regular Meeting <br />Page 7 of 16 <br />Budget Impact: The funds are available in the State Law Enforcement Trust Fund and will be authorized <br />with approval of Budget Amendment #12 -028. <br />BA #12 -028: <br />Explanation of Request: This item seeks approval for the Police Department to donate $1,000 to the Florida <br />Prescription Drug Monitoring Program. The Florida Legislature passed the Prescription Drug Monitoring <br />Program (PDMP) into law during the 2009 session; however state funding for the program was not authorized. <br />Through federal grants and private donations, the program has been operational and is being utilized by <br />pharmacists, doctors, and law enforcement agencies to assist in identifying doctor - shoppers and other <br />illegitimate users. On February 21, 2012, the Police Department received a letter from the Chairman of the <br />Florida Prescription Monitoring Program, Mr. David Bowen, requesting any financial assistance the <br />Casselberry Police Department may be able to offer to assist them in their cause. Funding for the donation will <br />be taken from the Police Department's State Law Enforcement Trust Fund. <br />Account Number Account Description Amount <br />INCREASE: <br />104 -0610 -521 -49.00 Other Current Charges and Obligations $1,000 <br />104- 0000 - 389.90 -00 Non - Operating Sources $1,000 <br />Recommendation: The Interim City Manager and the Police Chief recommended approval ofthe Prescription <br />Monitoring Drug Monitoring Program donation and related Budget Amendment # 12 -028. <br />Purchase ofAwnings for Public Works/Fire Department Administration Building and <br />Related Budget Amendment #12 -033 <br />Introduction: Consideration to approve the purchase of two (2) awnings for the front entrance and the north <br />employee entrance to the Public Works /Fire Administration building in the amount of $3,650 and related <br />Budget Amendment #12 -033 is requested. <br />Budget Impact: The impact to the budget will be a decrease in the City Facilities /Other General Government <br />account No. 001- 0722 - 519.46 -00 and an increase in the Non- Departmental/Building Improvements account <br />No. 001- 0190- 519.62 -25. <br />BA #12 -033: <br />Explanation of Request: This item seeks approval for funding the purchase of two awnings for the front <br />entrance and north employee entrance to the Public Works /Fire Administration building. This is an <br />improvement to Asset #3508 which will enhance the safety of the area by preventing the electronic doors from <br />being exposed to rain and other harsh weather conditions. The total cost of the project is $3,650 and funding is <br />available in Facilities repairs and maintenance account, however because this is a capital project, a budget <br />amendment is necessary to allocate fiinds into the Non - Departmental building improvement capital account. <br />Project 41207 has been assigned to this capital project. <br />
