CASSELBCRRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of October 8, 2012 — Regular Meeting <br />Page 10 of 14 <br />Ms. Reischmann asked for clarification as to whether the Commission was also including staff's <br />recommendation that the lien was to be paid within 60 days. <br />MOTION: Commissioner Miller moved to amend the previous motion to include the <br />requirement that the reduced lien be paid within 60 days. Motion was seconded <br />by Commissioner Aramendia. Motion carried unanimously by voice vote 5 -0. <br />Original motion, as amended, carried unanimously by voice vote 5 -0. <br />A. Future Agenda Items <br />Commissioner Solomon suggested the possibility of changing the name of Wirz Park. In response to a <br />question from Mayor Glancy, City Clerk Donna Gardner advised that the park had been named for former <br />Councilman Richard Wirz, who died in 1973. Discussion ensued regarding the pronunciation of the park's <br />name and about whether the park's name should remain the same or be changed. Suggestions were made <br />about the possibility of naming the City's trail system the Green Way in order to tie into the City's waterway <br />system which is called the Blue Way. After additional discussion, the Commissioners each agreed to think <br />about possible names for the trail system and to bring it up for discussion at a later time. <br />B. Municipal Advisory Committee (Metroplan) Report — Mayor Glancy <br />No report. <br />C. Leadership Seminole Board Report — Mayor Glancy <br />No report. <br />D. Mayors /Managers Group Report — Mayor Glancy <br />Reported that Amy Lockhart, who is heading the Seminole County 100 Years Celebration, <br />gave a presentation, stating that the plan was to celebrate the 100 years during the first 100 <br />days beginning January 1 sc of next year. She advised that Ms. Lockhart had asked the cities to <br />bring to her attention any significant events they would have during the 100 -day time period, <br />and the County would try to incorporate those events into the promotion of the County's 100 <br />Years Celebration. There was a brief discussion regarding what City events were planned <br />during that time, and whether Ms. Lockhart's request would include non -city events, such as <br />Chamber or Rotary events. Mayor Glancy suggested that a list could be put together and <br />submitted to Ms. Lockhart and she could make the call on which events would appropriate to <br />include. <br />
