She advised that there are complicated title issues <br />with the home, and she would need to consult with the City Manager and the Commission regarding <br />the costs of a foreclosure in light of the complications. <br />Advised that she had handed out a litigation update to the Commission and gave a very brief update on <br />some of the pending cases. <br />In response to questions from Commissioner Solomon, Ms. Reischmann advised that she had spoken <br />with the Tax Collector about the possibility of including code enforcement liens on the tax bills, and <br />the Tax Collector did not agree that the City had the right to do so. She added that counsel for the Tax <br />Collector had issued an opinion that confirmed their stand on the issue. <br />Mr. Newlon added that all efforts would be made to collect on the liens, but he did not feel pursuing the issue <br />with the Tax Collector would yield enough benefit to be worthwhile. <br />® No report. <br />Commissioner Anthony Aramendia — Seat No. 1: <br />® Reported that the July Food Truck event two week ago was the largest yet, with over 2000 people in <br />attendance. <br />® Advised that the RunYak event at Secret Lake Park, and sponsored by the City, Travel Country and <br />Friends of the Park, would begin at 7:00 a.m. on August 0' <br />Commissioner Sandra Solomon — Seat No. 3: <br />® Thanked staff for all the good work on preparation of the budget. <br />Commissioner Jon Miller — Seat No. 2: <br />• Commended the Police Department and City Manager for their professional response to the recent <br />events which were shown in the YouTube video. <br />• Recognized Rebecca Bowman and the Finance Department staff for a great job in preparation of the <br />budget. <br />• Commended Vice Mayor Hufford for the tremendous j ob she did in helping to coordinate the political <br />hobnob event sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce. <br />• Thanked the Community Development Department staff and the City Manager for their work in <br />bringing the $10 million dollar garden homes project to the City. <br />
