CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION Minutes of July 23, 2012 — Regular Meeting Page 11 of 11 Commissioner Colleen Hufford — Seat No. 4: • Added her thanks to Commissioner Miller's comments about the budget and the new development in the City. • Reported that the Chamber event was a good opportunity to get to really know the different candidates, and was a successful event. Mayor Charlene Glancy — Seat No. 5: Reported she had attended the first meeting of the Public School Facility Planning Committee this morning. Advised that Karen Almond had been selected as Chairman and Butch Bundy had been selected as Vice - Chair. Further reported that the main discussion was regarding the Interlocal Agreement and the changes needed to reflect the changes in legislation, but there was additional discussion regarding capacity, enrollment, funding, capital project plans, and criteria for school closures. She stated they would meet again in October. Advised that the Committee made of up residents who were developing their own criteria for school closures would be presenting their report to the School Board on July 30th and that the PSFPC would be meeting jointly with the School Board in February. Discussion: A lengthy discussion ensued regarding capital improvement plans for the schools, funding and how priorities for capital improvements are determined. ® Reported she had attended the Food Truck event and it was a very successful event. Mr. Newlon praised the Police Department for the cookout event at Casselberry Elementary School last Thursday which benefitted the Summer Program. He stated they fed between 100 -200 people and there was also local news coverage of the event by WESH television and WDBO radio.
