CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of July 23, 2012 — Regular Meeting <br />Page 11 of 11 <br />Commissioner Colleen Hufford — Seat No. 4: <br />• Added her thanks to Commissioner Miller's comments about the budget and the new development in <br />the City. <br />• Reported that the Chamber event was a good opportunity to get to really know the different <br />candidates, and was a successful event. <br />Mayor Charlene Glancy — Seat No. 5: <br />Reported she had attended the first meeting of the Public School Facility Planning Committee this <br />morning. Advised that Karen Almond had been selected as Chairman and Butch Bundy had been <br />selected as Vice - Chair. Further reported that the main discussion was regarding the Interlocal <br />Agreement and the changes needed to reflect the changes in legislation, but there was additional <br />discussion regarding capacity, enrollment, funding, capital project plans, and criteria for school <br />closures. She stated they would meet again in October. <br />Advised that the Committee made of up residents who were developing their own criteria for school <br />closures would be presenting their report to the School Board on July 30th and that the PSFPC would <br />be meeting jointly with the School Board in February. <br />Discussion: A lengthy discussion ensued regarding capital improvement plans for the schools, funding and <br />how priorities for capital improvements are determined. <br />® Reported she had attended the Food Truck event and it was a very successful event. <br />Mr. Newlon praised the Police Department for the cookout event at Casselberry Elementary School last <br />Thursday which benefitted the Summer Program. He stated they fed between 100 -200 people and there was <br />also local news coverage of the event by WESH television and WDBO radio. <br />There being no further business, Mayor Glancy adjourned the meeting at 8:40 p.m. <br />DATE MINUTES APPROVED BY CITY COMMISSION: lo <br />ATTEST: <br />Llf <br />Donna G.
