CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of April 23, 2012 — Regular Meeting <br />Page 5 of 10 <br />A. Resolution 12 -2369 — Establishment of the Casselberry Housing Task Force <br />The City Clerk read Resolution 12 -2369 by title as follows: <br />"A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA; ESTABLISHING THE <br />CASSELBERRY HOUSING TASK FORCE; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, <br />AND EFFECTIVE DATE." <br />Staff Presentation: Community Development Director Don Martin gave a brief overview of the item, <br />reminding the Commission that the formation of the Task Force had been suggested at the Commission <br />Retreat. <br />Budget Impact: There is no impact to the City Budget. <br />Recommendation: The Interim City Manager and the Community Development Director recommended <br />approval of Resolution 12 -2369 creating the Casselberry Housing Task Force. <br />Discussion: Discussion ensued regarding the makeup of the Task Force, the tentative meeting schedule, <br />appointment of a Commissioner to service as Chairman and timing for appointment of the Task Force <br />members. <br />MOTION: Vice Mayor Hufford moved to appoint Commissioner Anthony Aramendia to <br />serve as Chairman of the Casselberry Housing Task Force. Motion was <br />seconded by Commissioner Miller. Motion carried unanimously by voice vote <br />5 -0. <br />City Clerk Donna Gardner asked for clarification on whether all the appointees' names were to be presented on <br />a Commission Meeting agenda, in which case they would need to be submitted a week prior to the meeting, or <br />whether the Commissioners would bring the names and submit them at the meeting. <br />Mayor Glancy stated that the names should be submitted at the meeting. <br />Discussion: Additional brief discussion ensued regarding the selection process for appointees to the Task <br />Force. <br />Audience Input: The following individuals came forward to address Resolution 12 -2369: <br />Mr. James Fraleigh, 1262 Seminola Boulevard, spoke in opposition to Resolution 12 -2369, <br />expressing concerns about additional restrictions being placed on the City's residents. <br />2. Mr. John Casselberry, 700 South Lost Lake Lane, voiced concerns regarding the City's <br />housing situation, and the effect the economy has had on the residents' use of their homes. <br />
