Special Invoice Report <br />Introduction: The Special Invoice Report policy was adopted by the Commission to streamline the financial <br />process for approval of certain invoices, awards of bids, initial contracts and change orders on a project in <br />excess of 5% of the total project. The following items have been reviewed by the affected departments and are <br />being presented for approval: <br />Brown, Garganese, Weiss & D'Agresta, P.A. <br />® City Attorney Services for September 2011 <br />Invoice #48393 $22,736.35 <br />Budget Impact: Funds for the City Attorney invoice are available in FY 2011 Budget Account No. 001 -0140- <br />514.31 -01. This payment will be accrued and applied to FY 2011 through the fiscal year end closing process. <br />Recommendation: The City Manager and staff recommended approval of the Special Invoice Report. <br />B. Budi;et Amendment #12 -004 — Retention of Unclaimed Evidence /Abandoned <br />Pro pert <br />Introduction: Consideration of Budget Amendment #12 -004 to retain unclaimed evidence and abandoned <br />property in the amount of $15,280.65 for Police Department use is requested. <br />Budget Impact: The budget amendment will increase the Police Department's operating supplies account <br />(001- 0610 - 521.52 -00) by $10,000, small tools and equipment (001- 0610 - 521.56 -00) by $5,281 and recognize <br />the revenue of $15,281 in the miscellaneous income (001- 000 - 369.93 -00). <br />BA #12 -004 <br />EXPLANATION OF REQUEST: This item seeks Commission consideration and approval of Budget <br />Amendment # 12 -004. During the Police Department's annual audit of its Property and Evidence room a total <br />of $15,281 was identified as being unclaimed evidence or abandoned. These monies are assigned to events <br />between 1981 and 2009. The Police Department is not obligated to retain these monies indefinitely under <br />Florida State Statute 705. The Police Department has vastly exceeded the requirements of Florida State Statute <br />705 and pursuant to the Statutes may retain the said monies for its own use. It is recommended the Police <br />Department's Operating Supplies (001 - 0610- 521.52 -00) be increased by $10,000, Small Tools and Equipment <br />(001- 0610 - 521.56 -00) be increased by $5,281, and recognize the revenue of $15,281 in Miscellaneous Income <br />(001- 0000 - 369.93 -00). <br />
