• The Orlando Concert Band (50 members) and vocalist performed at Lake Concord Park to delight the audience who came out to welcome Valentine's Day weekend and listen to the program, "That's Amore ". • Staff continues to implement programs such as "Movies in the Park" as well as work with the Casselberry Little League to ensure healthy community activities are provided for residents of all ages. • Creative workshops in various art media and dance classes continued to be offered for both youth and adults. • Security was provided at all of the City- sponsored events held in Lake Concord Park during the second quarter of FY 10/11. The Police Department has continued its practice of placing a "community relations" table at these events and has distributed community safety material to the attendees. • The City hosted a Latin Jazz concert in Lake Concord Park in February, featuring Arturo Sandoval. The concert was attended by approximately 8,000 spectators. o Staff continues to implement use of the "Green Up Casselberry" brand. This logo has been used on websites and other publications promoting the Earth Day event scheduled for April 23, 2011, being held in conjunction with "Keep Seminole Beautiful" in Lake Concord Park, as well as educational programs related to Florida Friendly Landscaping. o In January, Martin Luther King Day was celebrated with a day of service as volunteers joined together for a trail blazing project at Plumosa Oaks Park by expanding the existing nature trail so that it connects to the sidewalk on the southwest side of the park. o Also in January, volunteers participated in an air potato raid at Wirz Park, collecting 1173 pounds of the invasive potatoes. `ist Quarter Pr ®press Staff has developed and deployed a new series of logos for the "Green Up Casselberry" program and is expanding use of this "brand" to encompass sustainable events and programs beyond simple tree planting. Submissions for Tree City USA recertification and Growth Award consideration were also completed. The City applied for and was subsequently awarded the 2010 Friends of Our Urban Forest Award for Lake Concord Park from the Florida Urban Forestry Council. Staff has had several meetings to develop the niche strategy.
