The City hosted a Latin Jazz Concert and Art Event in Lake Concord Park in September, <br />which was attended by approximately 4,000 spectators. Entertainment featured jazz <br />saxophonists Jessy J and Ed Calle. <br />Latin Jazz Concert, September 2011 <br />The Fire Department led the effort to coordinate the return of the holiday Santa Run <br />event, which will take place this year on the evenings of December 6th, 7th and 8th <br />3rd Quarter Progress <br />Staff continues to implement use of the "Green Up Casselberry" brand. This logo has <br />been used on websites and other publications promoting the Earth Day event held in <br />Lake Concord Park on April 23, 2011 as well as the street tree program and other <br />conservation /environmental programs the City offers. <br />Staff continues to implement programs such as "Movies in the Park" as well as work with <br />the Casselberry Little League to ensure healthy community activities are provided for <br />residents of all ages. <br />The Summer Program began at Lyman High School, Secret Lake Park, and at the Art <br />House. <br />The ball field lighting at Wirz Park was upgraded. <br />Security was provided by the Police Department at City- sponsored events during the 3ra <br />quarter of FY 10/11 and community safety material was distributed. <br />Work continued in renovating the space for the Fire House Sculpture Center. <br />The City earned the national designation "Tree City USA" community for another <br />three years. <br />The first annual Secret Lake Runyak (run /paddle /run) was held for a sold out <br />crowd. <br />Staff focused on the "Art. Culture and Jazz" brand which is supported by the City events <br />program. <br />o Fifty -one participants from the Leadership Seminole Class of 2010 -2011 toured <br />the Casselberry Art House and Lake Concord Park in February. The students <br />experienced a hands -on arts project creating their own works of art in clay and <br />toured the art exhibit at City Hall. <br />
