CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of January 28, 2013 — Regular Meeting <br />Page 15 of 18 <br />B. Municipal Advisory Committee (Metroplan) Report — Mayor GlancX <br />No report. <br />C. Leadership Seminole Board Report — Mayor Glancy <br />Advised that Leadership Seminole's Coffee & Conversation monthly event would be held atthe AAA building <br />in Lake Mary on January 29, 2013 from 7:30-9:00 a.m., and would feature Admiral Stan Arthur and Captain <br />Mark Waldrop as speakers. <br />Reported that Leadership Seminole's annual Bowling Green bowling tournament fundraiser will be held on <br />Sunday, March 17, 2013 at AMF Casselberry Lanes and she would get back to the Commissioners with <br />information about forming a team. <br />D. Mayors/Managers Group Report — Mayor GlancX <br />Reported Senator David Simmons gave an overview of what the Senate was working on via Skype. She added <br />that Superintendent Walt Griffin and School Board member Karen Almond were also in attendance and they <br />gave an overview of the current elementary school rezoning process. She stated that Commissioner Bob <br />Dallari reported that the County wished to extend the Local Option Gas Tax (LOGT) an additional thirty (3 0) <br />years and were having discussions about a possible extension and the associated interlocal agreements. She <br />further stated the County was looking to the cities for support. Mr. Newlon explained that they did not intend <br />to change the method of allocation of the proceeds and he believed the Commission would be in agreement <br />with that and that the County would be reaching out to the cities to express their willingness to continue the <br />tax. He added that the tax would expire in tiers and about half expires at the end of the year. He added that he <br />believed the County wished to resolve the issue within the next couple of months. <br />Ms. Gardner referred back to the bowling tournament for Leadership Seminole, stating the teams were four - <br />person teams and the cost was $300 per team and $30 for cheerleader tickets. The Commissioners briefly <br />discussed the matter and agreed they would form a team to participate in the event. <br />E. Council of Local Governments in Seminole Count(CALNO)Report — <br />Commissioner Solomon <br />Reported that the City would be hosting the next meeting on Wednesday, January 6, 2013 at the Recreation <br />Center. She stated dinner would be provided at 6:30, and asked anyone planning to attend to contact Ms. <br />Gardner. She added that Kathy Till would be making a 10 -minute presentation on advocacy, followed by a 20 - <br />minute presentation by Randy Newlon and Kyle Dudgeon about development along the 17-92 corridor. <br />
