CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of June 25, 2012 —Regular Meeting <br />Page 13 of 14 <br />Commissioner Anthony Aramendia — Seat No. 1: <br />• Wished Sgt. Nas good luck, as he will be attending the FBI National Academy. Added that he is sure <br />he will represent the City well. <br />• Advised the Housing Task Force had its first meeting. He stated this session was mainly for the <br />members to get acquainted and discuss what their first priorities would be. He added that the first area <br />the Task Force would address would be the North Casselberry area, and they would be determining <br />what the issues were, and what might be done as far as improvements. <br />• Advised that the Habanero's Restaurant next to Wal Mart is closing due to a substantial increase in the <br />rent. <br />Commissioner Sandra Solomon — Seat No. 3: <br />• Advised she had met with Commissioner Carlton Henley and had set up appointments with the other <br />County Commissioners. She added that they seemed to have a better impression of the City of <br />Casselberry than in the past. <br />• Reported that she had met with Marshal Polston regarding his proposed plans for the reconstruction of <br />Fort Concord and was very impressed with the research that he had done. Mr. Newlon advised that <br />the issue of the fort reconstruction had been referred to staff for review. <br />Commissioner Jon Miller — Seat No. 2: <br />• Thanked Commissioner Aramendia for the Housing Task Force update, stating he believes it has a lot <br />of potential for the City and he is excited to see where it goes. <br />• Advised he has gotten tremendous compliments from Brenda Carey, Sandy Adams, Larry Furlong and <br />John Jones about how things have changed for the better in the City. <br />Commissioner Colleen Hufford — Seat No. 4: <br />• Commented that she had seen some small gators in the lake over the past couple ofyears, but believed <br />there were larger ones, and expressed hope that Mr. Wright could help solve the problem. <br />• Expressed concerns about the loss of older trees in the residential areas. <br />• Explained that she wanted to gather more information before voting to approve the garden home <br />concept. <br />• Stated she would like to add working with the County to annex the 436 corridor up to the SunRail and <br />possibly having it as a CRA to the talking points for the future joint meeting with the County <br />Commission. <br />
