Seminole County Redevelopment Planning ` Agengy Report — Commissioner Solomon <br />Reported they had met on June 14"' and she had brought up the issue of continuing the CRA. She stated that <br />David Buchheit advised that they were starting to look at the issue and would be performing a study in order to <br />make recommendations. She stated that the possibility of extending the CRA toward SunRail would also be <br />addressed in the study. She advised that Seminole County has now started its study on Oxford Road. <br />• Advised that he and Commissioner Solomon attended a Meet and Greet with Commissioner <br />Carlton Henley and Deputy County Manager Joe Forte. He thanked Commissioner Solomon <br />for inviting him to attend with her. <br />• Advised that the City was not selected for the TIGER Grant, but extended thanks to staff who <br />contributed to the grant submittal, stating that it was a tremendous effort on their part. <br />• Reminded the Commission about the Police Department lockbox program, which is a <br />program allowing public safety personnel access to the homes of seniors in event of <br />emergencies. He commended Community Service Officer Terry Spencer for her <br />contributions to the program. <br />• Advised that he had reviewed some financial statements provided to him by the Casselberry <br />Golf Course owners which indicated that their net business losses over the past few years had <br />been substantial. He gave a brief overview to the Commission, noting that the figures were <br />not from official audits, but internally produced statements. <br />r <br />® Advised that the City Attorney was requesting an attorney /client session on the red light camera case, <br />Maria Johnson vs. City of Casselberry, 2009 -CA- 007307. <br />Reminded the Commission that the Seminole County Supervisor of Elections had made substantial <br />changes to precincts throughout the County and new voter registration cards would be mailed to all <br />registered voters. She stated she wanted the Commission to be aware of this in the event they receive <br />calls from citizens about changes in polling places or precincts. She explained that this is done every <br />ten years and the precinct lines are drawn based on Census blocks and it can be somewhat confusing <br />to the voters. She added that she would be available to assist as needed. <br />
