Request for Reduction of Code Compliance Lien — 451 Jasmine Road <br />Staff Presentation: Sandra Smith, Development Services Manager, stated consideration to reduce a code <br />enforcement lien on the property located at 451 Jasmine Road for case number CE -11 -02541 from $3,550 to <br />$600 to be paid within 60 days is requested. She advised that the Code Enforcement Board imposed a fine of <br />$50.00 per day for roof maintenance violations at the referenced property during its January 12, 2012 meeting. <br />She explained that the fines had accumulated to a total amount of $3,550.00 when the property was found to be <br />in compliance on March 2, 2012; however, the work had actually been completed on December 22, 2011 but <br />the City was not notified. Ms. Smith advised that the Code Enforcement Board heard a request for reduction of <br />the lien from $3,550 to $600 based on the actual repair date and voted to recommend the reduction. She added <br />that this was a bank foreclosure property and the lender is seeking to clear the title of the code compliance lien. <br />Budget Impact: The reduction will result in income of $600.00 to the City. <br />Recommendation: The Interim City Manager and the Community Development Director recommended <br />consideration of the Code Enforcement Board's recommendation to reduce the lien amount for case number <br />CE -11 -02541 from $3,550 to $600 to be paid within 60 days. <br />Audience Input: No one came forward to address this item. <br />
