Recently, one of the pumps at Casselberry Pump Station No. 23 has failed. The pump station
was originally installed in 1983 and the observed life span for these pumps is approximately 28 years.
Barney's Pumps, Inc., a sole source provider, quoted the cost of repair to be $2,900 and $4,050 to replace the
pump. Because ofthe service life of the pumps and minor price difference to purchase, staff is recommending
an emergency purchase of a new pump for Pump Station No. 23. A transfer of $4,050 from Repair and
Maintenance/Life Stations to Machinery & Equipment/Pumps is required to cover the expenses.
Account Number Account Description Amount
Increase:
401 - 0751 - 536.67 -76 Machinery & Equipment/Pumps $4,050
Decrease:
401 - 0751 - 536.46 -13 Repair & Maintenance/Lift Stations $4,050
Recommendation: The City Manager recommended approval of Budget Amendment #12 -016.
MOTION: Vice Mayor Hufford moved to approve the Consent Agenda, as presented.
Motion was seconded by Commissioner Solomon.
