Resolution 11-2310 -Resolution of Intent to Adopt a Special Assessment for the <br />Uniform Collection of Non-Ad Valorem Assessments for Code Enforcement <br />Abatement~LPA 11-20~ <br />The City Cleric read Resolution 11-2310 by title as follows: <br />"A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, ELECTING TO USE THE <br />UNIFORM METHOD OF COLLECTING NON-AD VALOREM SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS LEVIED <br />WITHIN THE INCORPORATED AREA OF THE CITY; STATING A NEED FOR SUCH LEVY; <br />PROVIDING FOR THE MAILILNG OF THIS RESOLUTION; AND PROVIDING FOR AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE." <br />Notice of Public Hearing: The Notice of Public Hearing relative to Resolution 11-2310 was published in the <br />Orlando Sentinel on September 15, 22, 29, and October 6, 2011, in accordance with statutory requirements. <br />Staff Presentation: Ms. Sandra Smith, Development Services Manager, stated Resolution 11-2310 provides <br />notice to the citizens of Casselberry that the City is planning to adopt the uniform method of collecting non-ad <br />valorem assessments far• the costs expended by the City to abate code enforcement violations on private <br />properties throughout the City. The City could use this method to collect monies spent by the City to abate <br />properties due to code enforcement action for a public nuisance or for an expired building permit and <br />
