TIGER III Discretionary Grant Application <br />Staff Presentation: Ms. Patricia Comings-Thibault, Budget Manager, and Dr. Kelly Brock, Assistant Public <br />Works Director/City Engineer, gave a presentation and requested authorization for staff to prepare and submit <br />an application for a United States Department of Transportation (US DOT) Regional TIGER Discretionary <br />Grant on behalf of the City of Casselberry, the City of Altamonte Springs, Seminole County and LYNX for the <br />purpose of obtaining federal fluids to enhance the core transportation system of the region. A copy of the City <br />Manager memorandum dated October 10, 2011 and related presentation are attached to and made a part of <br />these minutes. <br />Budget Impact: For the City of Casselberry, the proposed local match is $8,729,477. These funds are either <br />already appropriated in the proposed Fiscal Year 2012 Budget or are readily available; fiit<ire Budget <br />Amendments would be necessary to formalize allocation of the funds to specific project components. No <br />additional General Fund money other than what has already been appropriated by the City Commission is <br />proposed for the match. The proposed funding is broken down as follows: <br />1) $5,624,274 -Neighborhood Improvement Fund (including most of the repaving construction loan) <br />2) $1,485,630 -General Fund (predominately interest costs on a portion of the repaving construction <br />loan based on the amortization schedule) <br />3) $584,473 - Stormwater Utility Fund <br />4) $519,100 -Water/Sewer Utility Fund <br />5) $516,000 -Tree Fund <br />Recommendation: The City Manager and the Public Works Director recommend approval for the <br />preparation and submission of a 2011 application for a TIGER Discretionary Grant. <br />MOTION: Vice Mayor Miller moved to authorize staff to prepare and submit an <br />application for the 2011United States Department of Transportation Regional <br />
