CASSI',LBI;RRY CITY COMMISSION Minutes of July 11, 2011- Regular Meeting Page 10 of 14 Notice of Public Hearing: The Notice of Public Hearing relative to Ordinance 11-13 52 was published in the Orlando Sentinel on June 16, 2011. On June 27, 2011, the City Commission continued the second reading of Ordinance 11-1352 to July 11, 2011. Staff Presentation: Ms. Sandra Smith, Chief Planner, stated Ordinance 11-1352 provides for new criteria for condemnation and demolition of buildings and structures that remain unfinished due to cessation of work and an expired building permit under Part IlI. Chapter 1, Article 1V, Building Code, as "Section 7, Cessation of WorldExpiration of Building Permit". The Planning & Zoning Commission unanimously recommended adoption of Ordinance 11-13 52 at their May 13, 2011 meeting. The City Commission approved Ordinance 11- 1352 onfirst reading on June 13, 2011. On June 27, 2011, the City Commission continued the ordinance until July 11 `~' and directed staff to amend the condemnation procedure to provide an additional appeal to the city commission after a determination is rendered by the Code Enforcement Board. The additional appeal process has been provided within the ordinance and reviewed by the City Attorney and the Building Official. Budget Impact: This item has no impact to the City Budget. Recommendation: The City Manager and the Community Development Director recommended adoption of Ordinance 11-1352 on second and final reading. Public Hearing: Mayor Glancy opened the public hearing relative to Ordinance 11-1352. No one came forward. Mayor Glancy closed the public hearing relative to Ordinance 11-1352. MOTION: Commissioner Hufford moved to approve and adopt Ordinance 11-1352 on second and final reading, as presented. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Solomon.
