CITY OF CASSELBERRY
CODL ENFORCEMENT BOARD MEE _ 1NG
AUGUST 14, 2008 PAGE 7
Mr. Hines stated that was fine, but he was in before that happened. Mr. Hines stated shouldn't he be grandfathered
in and if he is not grandfathered in he asked that the CEB give him time to sell the vehicle or sell his home and he
would be glad to move out. Mr. Hines stated if he can get near what the vehicle is worth he would retire, he just
needs some time, it's not something he could just do overnight because they came up with a different set of rules.
Mr. Hines continued.
Mr. Flint stated rules change everyday.
Mr. Hines stated that was good but he was here before that rule changed, so he should be grandfathered in his eyes.
Mr. Hines stated if they say not and they still want him out, he is willing to do it he just needs time to take care of
the problem.
Mr. Flint stated if the Board deems that you are in violation he has the authority and the right to go and contest this
before the City Commission. The Board is established to enforce the City rules, if Mr. Hines wants to argue a
grandfather issue that would be something that you need to do with those people that have made the laws.
Mr. Hines stated then he would ask to reschedule the meeting again and there be no Code Enforcement fine,
because he disagrees with that. Mr. Hines continued.
Discussion.
Charlene Glancy asked Mr. Hines if he had been told by a Code Enforcer if he puts up a fence he will be in
compliance.
Mr. Hines stated that is what they told him before.
Mr. Flint stated the regulation authorizes that.
Mr. Hines asked, so he can (have a fence).
Mr. Flint stated if you have a fence in front of it, it has to be a screened side or screened rear yard.
Mr. Hines asked what about the fence that has the wooden pieces where you can't see in it.
CES Brown stated that type of truck is specifically prohibited, if they deem it to be a dump truck.
Ms. Reischmann stated a dump truck can not be screened even in a residential.
Discussion.
Mr. Hines stated he will need time in order to sell the vehicle.
Mr. Flint asked how much time Mr. Hines was looking for.
Mr. Hines stated till about the first of the year.
Mr. Flint stated they could not due that.
Mr. Hines stated what do you mean, they have not heard him yet.
Discussion.
