Planning & Zoning Commissionl <br />Local Planning Agency <br />November 10, 2010 <br />Page 8 <br />Harley Parkhurst Yes <br />Stanley Weinroth Yes <br />Daniel Hale Yes <br />Victor Lutz Yes <br />Anthony Aramendia Yes <br />The motion passed unanimously. <br />Eighth Item of Dusiness: LPA 10.10: ULDR Amendments to Section 3.10.9, Parking in residential districts <br />Revisions to screen height for business related vehicles and recreational equipment and providing a <br />maximum length of recreational equipment. <br />Ms. Sandra Smith, Chief Planner, reviewed the information provided in her memorandum dated November <br />10, 2010, to the City of Casselberry Planning and Zoning Commission (a copy is on file in the Community <br />Development Department), Ms. Smith explained that Ordinance 10-1314 was adopted by the City Commission on <br />April 12, 2010 which restructured the entire code that related to personal use vehicles, prohibited vehicles, business <br />related vehicles and recreational equipment. She explained that the City Commission postponed the effective date <br />for parking recreational equipment and business related vehicles to February 1, 2011 to allow staff an opportunity to <br />educate the public relating to those two changes. <br />Ms. Smith explained at the October 11, 2010 City Commission meeting staff provided a presentation <br />reviewing the February 2011 implementation of the parking regulations addressing business related vehicles and <br />recreational equipment, She said during the discussion the City Commission requested clarification as to the <br />screening requirement for these vehicles. Ms, Smith said the City Commission requested staff to provide the <br />following revisions to the parking requirements; <br />1. Business related vehicles require an eight (8) foot high fence, wall or healthy landscaping. <br />2. Recreational equipment shall be screened between six (6) feet and eight (8) feet in height, by a fence, <br />wall or healthy landscape. <br />3. The maximum length of recreational equipment shall not exceed thirty five (35) feet, <br />Ms. Smith requested the Planning and Zoning Commission provide a favorable recommendation to the City <br />Commission to amend the City of Casselberry Code of Ordinances, Part III, Unified Land Development Regulations, <br />Chapter III, Performance Criteria, Article X, Appearance, Design and Compatibility, Section 3-10.9, Parking in <br />residential districts, as provided in the draft ordinance attached to the staff report. <br />
