Resolution 11-2213 -Amending the Parlcs Administrative Rules Re a~g the Use <br />of Tobacco Products <br />"A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE <br />AMENDMENT OF THE PARKS ADMINISTRATIVE RULES REGARDING USE OF TABACCO <br />PRODUCT IN PUBLIC PARKS; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY AND <br />EFFECTIVE DATE." <br />Introduction: Mr. Jose Chavez, Special Projects Coordinator, stated Resolution 11-2213 provides for <br />consideration to amend the Parks Administrative Rules to further regulate the use of tobacco products in City <br />of Casselbeny public parks by prohibiting the use of tobacco products during all times in all areas within the <br />defined perimeter of City owned or operated parks utilized for organized youth athletic activities. <br />Budget Impact: This item has no budget impact. <br />Recommendation: The City Manager and the Public Works Director recommended approval of Resolution <br />11-2213. <br />Discussion: Commissioner Doerner inquired if the designated smoking areas will be better defined in parks <br />larger than one acre. Mr. Chavez stated staff will be adding more signage in an effort to ensure that the <br />designated smoking areas are clearly defined. <br />MOTION: Commissioner Doerner moved to approve Resolution 11-2213, as presented. <br />Motion was seconded by Commissioner Solomon.
