CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of February 28, 2011-Regular Meeting <br />Page 7 of 11 <br />The subject properties have Seminole County futul•e land use designations of Mixed Development, High <br />Density Residential, and Commercial with Retail-Commercial and R-lA zoning designations. Ifthe ordinance <br />is approved by the City Commission, a referendum will be held by mail with ballots to be returned no later than <br />June 14, 2011. If the referendum should fail, no attempt to annex the area may take place for a period of two <br />years. <br />Budget Impact: The properties are currently valued at $3,225,256 taxable value and currently provide <br />$52,109 in county property tax. These parcels will provide $17,578 in City property tax, an estimated $7,376 <br />in annual stormwater fees and $2,294 for annual street lighting assessments. <br />Recommendation: The City Manager and the Community Development Director recommended approval of <br />Ordinance 11-1346 on first reading. <br />Public Hearing: Mayor Glancy opened the public hearing relative to Ordinance 11-1346. No one came <br />forward. Mayor Glancy closed the public hearing relative to Ordinance 11-1346. <br />MOTION: Commissioner Hufford moved to approve Ordinance 11-1346 on first reading, <br />as presented. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Solomon. Motion carried <br />unanimously by voice vote 5 - 0. <br />C. First Reading of Ordinance 11-1347 -Amendments to the Official Zoning Map for <br />Property Located at 1060 Seminola Boulevard (ZB 11-01) <br />The City Clerk read Ordinance 11-1347 by title as follows: <br />"AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AMENDING THE CITY OF <br />CASSELBERRY'S OFFICIAL ZONING MAP AS ESTABLISHED IN ARTICLE IV, SECTION 2-4.3, <br />UNIFIED LAND DEVELOPMENT REGULATIONS OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, <br />FLORIDA, AS AMENDED AND SUPPLEMENTED; ESTABLISHING THE ZONING <br />CLASSIFICATION OF CG (COMMERCIAL GENERAL) FOR APPROXIMATELY 0.41 ACRES OF <br />THE PARCEL DESCRIBED IN SECTION 1 OF THIS ORDINANCE; PROVIDING FOR <br />CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, CODIFICATION AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE." <br />Notice of Public Hearing: The Notice of Public Hearing relative to Ordinance 11-1347 was published in the <br />Orlando Sentinel on February 17, 2011. <br />Staff Presentation: Ms. Sandra Smith, Chief Planner, stated Ordinance 11-1347 provides for amending the <br />zoning designation of a portion of the property located at 1060 Seminola Boulevard from OR (Office <br />Residential) to CG (Commercial General) which is consistent with the property's firtare land use designation of <br />Commercial, consistent with the Comprehensive Plan, compatible with the surrounding land uses, and is a <br />positive catalyst for economic redevelopment and provide for orderly development. The Planning & Zoning <br />Commission unanimously recommended approval of the rezoning at its February 9, 2011 meeting. <br />Budget Impact: There is no impact to the City Budget. <br />
