CASSI;LBGRRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of March 22, 2010 -Regular Meeting <br />Page 12 of 14 <br />meeting was to defer further discussion until after the City Attorney reported back to the City Commission <br />about discussions she was having with the School Board Attorney relating to the outside legal counsel 1•eview <br />of the letter she previously sent to him on the annexation. <br />Ms. Catherine Reischmann, City Attorney, stated she has spoken with the School Board Attorney several times <br />since the January 25, 2010 meeting, and he has indicated openness to a letter fiom the Commission that it <br />desires to pursue mediation regarding the Milwee Annexation issue. Ms. Reischmann clarified that a list of <br />stipulated facts could be developed and setup for a half day (approximately 4 hours) mediation, if the School <br />Board is willing to go forward with a mediation process. It was also clarified that pursuing mediation does not <br />waive any rights of the City to pursue the issue further. <br />City Commission consensus was to direct the City Attorney to draft a letter for the Mayor's signattu•e to the <br />School Board requesting pursuit of mediation regarding the Milwee Middle School annexation issue. <br />13. I)ISCiTSSI®1~1 ITEMS <br />A. Municipal Advisory Committee (Metroplan) Repolt -Mayor Glancy <br />Mayor Glancy reported she attended the last fiill Metroplan board meeting and briefed the Commission on <br />discussion held at that meeting. <br />B. Envision Seminole Board Report -Mayor Glancy <br />Mayol• Glancy reported the Envision Seminole Board met on March 19, 2010 and the Board decided not to <br />move forward with a polling process relating to the continuation of the one cent sales tax at this time. <br />C. Mayors/Managers Group Repart -Mayor Glancy <br />Mayor Glancy stated discussion continued at the March 16, 2010 Mayors and Mangers Group meeting <br />regarding the continuation of the one cent sales tax at the March 16, 2010, with related transportation <br />presentations made by representatives from Metroplan, the Florida Department of Transpol•tation and LYNX <br />regarding a possible charter county half cent sales tax which can be utilized for both capital and operating <br />expenses. <br />D. Council of Local Governments in Seminole County (CALNOLReport - <br />Commissioner Hufford <br />No report. <br />
