No full-time <br />employee shall hold any other immediate position, <br />which is inconsistent with his/her duties as a City <br />employee, nor pursue any other immediate gainful <br />occupation, except that connected with said <br />employee's regular position in the classified service <br />without the prior written approval of his/her <br />department head and without obtaining written <br />permission of the appointing authority. The approval <br />request must be presented to the department head in <br />writing, stating the type of outside employment and <br />number of hours expected to be worked. Penalty, see § <br />34.999. <br />34.011 ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING <br />The Civil Service Board shall promptly meet for <br />organization annually after approval of the <br />appointment or reappointment of members by the <br />City E~sil Commission. <br />(A) At that meeting, the Board shall elect one <br />of its members as Chairman and shall report the <br />results to the appointing authority without delay. It <br />shall be the duty of the Chairman to: <br />(F) Administrative rules and regulations. <br />Existing and future rules and regulations <br />recommended by the Civil Service Board and <br />legislated by the City Ee~xisil Commission shall be <br />published and available to all employees. Penalty, see § 34.999. <br />Statutory reference: <br />Prohibited political activity for state civil service <br />employees, see, F.S.A. § 110.233. <br />34.010 MEMBERS <br />The Civil Service Board shall be composed of <br />five (5) members appointed as follows: <br />(A) The members shall be appointed by the <br />City Manager with approval of the City <br />Ee~sil Commission and shall be qualified electors of <br />the City. They shall not, during the term for which <br />they are appointed, be employed in any manner by <br />the City. <br />(B) Board members appointed by the ~aye~ <br />City Manager and approved by the City Ci-1 <br />Commission shall be appointed for two-year terms as <br />follows: <br />(1) Two members shall be appointed in each <br />(1) Call meetings of the Board. <br />(2) Preside at all Board meetings, public <br />hearings, and appeal hearings. <br />(3) Supervise the keeping of the Minutes of <br />the Board meetings. <br />(4) Perform such other duties as the Board <br />may designate or as may otherwise be necessary. <br />(B) The Board shall be furnished a Secretary <br />from within the Personnel Department of the City. <br />The duties of the Secretary shall be to: <br />(1) Record all transactions of the Board. <br />(2) Prepare the official Minutes of the Board <br />and supply copies to persons authorized to receive <br />them. <br />(3) Prepare the office correspondence, <br />records, and reports of the Board, and preserve them <br />as required by law. <br />(4) Perform such other duties as the Board <br />may designate. <br />(C) The Board shall select a Chief Examiner <br />who, with Ee~sil Commission approval, may be a <br />paid City employee.
