Resolution 10-2109 -License Agreement with Sterling Park Housing Association <br />Inc. for Wirz Trail Section II <br />"A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, APPROVING AND <br />AUTHORIZING ENTERING INTO A LICENSE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF <br />CASSELBERRY AND STERLING PARKING HOUSING ASSOCIATION, INC. FOR WIl2Z TRAIL <br />SECTION II; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY AND EFFECTIVE DATE." <br />Introduction: Resolution 10-2109 provided for a license agreement with the Sterling Park Housing <br />Association, Inc. for Wirz Trail Section II to allow the City to operate and maintain the portion of the trail <br />located on properly owned by the association. <br />Budget Impact: This item has no budget impact. <br />Recommendation: The City Manager and the Administrative Services Director recommended approval of <br />Resolution 10-2109 as presented. <br />D. Use of Federal Forfeiture Funds for Firearms Trade-In/Equipment Purchase and <br />Related Budget Amendment # 10-018 <br />Introduction: This item seeks approval to trade-in the Police Department's current issued handgun (Heckler <br />& Koch) for the Glock Mode122 and to purchase ancillary equipment by utilizing Federal Forfeiture Funds to <br />facilitate the transaction. Approval of related Budget Amendment #10-018 is also requested. <br />Budget Impact: There is no impact to the City Budget. <br />BA #10-018 <br />Explanation of Request: The Police Department has been experiencing mechanical problems with the <br />current issued (H&K USP Compact 40 caliber) during the course of conducting firearms training. Attempts <br />have been made to correct the identified deviancy through the company with no avail; we are unable to obtain <br />the parts, and they are all on backorder as a result of the current military conflicts, with no available projected <br />shipment date. Mr. Ralph, a local Glock representative, has agreed to accept the Heckler and Koch weapons in <br />a one-for-one trade for the Glock Model 22. In addition, Mr. Ralph has agreed to purchase several additional <br />weapons currently maintained in the armory, but not utilized by the Department, and apply the value towards <br />the Department's overall purchase. The overall purchase includes the purchase of fifty-five (55) holsters and <br />fifty-three (53) tactical lights for the handguns, at a cost of $6,559.00. As of December l 7, 2009, the Police <br />Department has $9,251.71 in its Federal Forfeiture Fund. The Police Department is requesting Commission <br />approval to utilize $6,559.00 to facilitate this transaction. <br />
