E. Budget Amendment #10-019 - Recosnition of Revenue from the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant FY 09/10 to Purchase Video Surveillance Equipment Introduction: This item seeks approval of Budget Amendment # 10-019 which recognizes grant proceeds and the related expenditure for the purchase of video surveillance equipment in the amount of $14,828. Budget Impact: Budget Amendment # 10-019 recognizes the grant funds and purchase by increasing Account Number 001-0000-334.22.01 (JAG Grants) and increasing Account Number 001-0610-521.67.12 (Cameras & Related Equipment). There is no impact to the General Fund. BA #10-019 Explanation of Request: This Budget Amendment recognizes the grant proceeds received through the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant and the expenditure necessary for the purchasing of video surveillance equipment. It is the intent of the Police Department to purchase two (2) portable and self contained video surveillance systems. These systems will allow the Police Department to actively monitor and record pre-determined locations, identified through crime analysis as being "hot spots".
